Grief Support

Working through the grief we experience after the death of a loved one can be one of the most profound experiences of our lives. Our experienced bereavement team and specially-trained volunteers provide compassionate support to hospice families forup to 13 months following the death of their loved one. During this difficult time, family members receive phone calls, cards and letters.

We also understand that each person mourns in his or her own way. That’s why we offer a wide variety of grief support at no charge to anyone in the community—regardless if they were served by Hospice.  Support services include:

  • Support and self-help groups
  • Workshops on topics related to the grieving process
  • One-on-one telephone support
  • Camp Jamie, a weekend camp for grieving children 6-14
  • Workplace bereavement services
  • Grief support in schools
  • Referrals to professional grief counselors and other resources
