More than 140 golfers hit the greens to show their support of hospice and have some fun. At registration, the golfers received complimentary gifts of a portable cooler, along with water bottles, golf balls and tees. After a delicious breakfast, golfers headed off to the greens. Volunteers later continued the tradition of serving a lunch on the course that included Famous Dave’s BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, and pizza donated by Lintini’s Pizzeria, Wegmans and Weis. Our players also enjoyed complimentary snacks, beverages, putting and hole-in-one contests throughout the busy, and blustery, day.
The fun continued into the evening with steak & crab cakes from The Red Horse Restaurant—always a hit. Highlights of the evening included a silent auction and awards presentation to the top golfers, 50/50, iPad raffle and door prize drawings.
Proceeds from this annual fundraiser are vital and help with the expense shortfall on our Kline Hospice House—helping Hospice of Frederick County keep our commitment to never turn anyone away, regardless of their ability to pay.
