Why Give?

Operating as a not-for-profit, Hospice of Frederick County depends on philanthropy to provide hospice care to individuals and families regardless of ability to pay. While some insurance plans, including Medicare, reimburse for medical services provided through Hospice, there is no insurance reimbursement for the residential care provided at the Kline Hospice House or for the extensive bereavement services available to anyone in the community.

What your gift provides:

  • Kline House room and board costs for patients who cannot pay the full $275 per day. This fee is not covered by insurance and is offered on a sliding scale for applicable residents in Frederick County.
  • Grief support, which costs on average $260 per person and is provided at no charge.
  • Helps send children age 6-14 to Camp Jamie, our weekend grief camp for kids age 6-14. It costs approximately $565 per child (offered at no charge.)

We need you to reach our goals.

Let’s work together so everyone in Frederick County has the opportunity to face their end-of-life with dignity and compassion.
